{"id":820,"date":"2025-04-21T23:03:01","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T21:03:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfoodhacks.fr\/?p=820"},"modified":"2025-05-06T12:23:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T10:23:43","slug":"butter-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldfoodhacks.fr\/?p=820","title":{"rendered":"Butter chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dans les ann\u00e9es 1950, apr\u00e8s la partition de l&rsquo;Inde, ce plat fut d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 au restaurant Moti Mahal, situ\u00e9 dans le centre historique de New Dehli. Kundan Lal Jaggi et Kundan Lal Gujral \u00e9taient alors tous deux des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s hindous du Nord-Ouest de l&rsquo;Inde britannique au sein du restauranr et y ont pr\u00e9par\u00e9 ce plat plus ou moins par hasard en m\u00e9langeant des restes de poulet tandoori dans une sauce tomate riche en beurre. Il s&rsquo;appelait alors le \u00ab\u00a0<em>Murgh makhani<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il fallut attendre 1975 pour que le nom \u00ab butter chicken \u00bb curry apparaisse dans la presse am\u00e9ricaine, comme une sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 de la maison au restaurant indien Gaylord \u00e0 Manhattan. Au Canada et dans les Cara\u00efbes, on le trouve comme garniture dans les pizzas, les poutines , les wraps, les rotis ou les petits pains. En Australie et en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, on le consomme \u00e9galement comme garniture de tarte. En raison de sa popularit\u00e9 en dehors de l&rsquo;Inde, on pense parfois \u00e0 tort qu&rsquo;il est d&rsquo;origine occidentale, tout comme le poulet tikka masala avec lequel on le confond souvent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;histoire de ce plat et de ses origines continue de s&rsquo;\u00e9crire puisqu&rsquo;en 2024, la famille Gujral (qui dirige depuis l&rsquo;\u00e9poque le Moti Mahal) a poursuivi en justice la famille Jaggi (qui a fond\u00e9 le sien) concernant le cr\u00e9dit pour l&rsquo;invention du butter chicken\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A noter enfin que, contrairement \u00e0 ce que laisse croire le nom, le butter chicken n&rsquo;est cuisin\u00e9 qu&rsquo;avec 3 cuill\u00e8res \u00e0 soupe de beurre pour 1kg de poulet, de quoi se rassurer niveau r\u00e9gime
