Toutefois, le plat en tant que tel fut plut\u00f4t document\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin du XIX<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un plat servi en bol (\u00ab\u00a0donburi\u00a0\u00bb signifiant \u00ab\u00a0grand bol\u00a0\u00bb), rempli pour moiti\u00e9 de riz qu&rsquo;on recouvre en plus de diff\u00e9rents aliments avec une dominante. A l&rsquo;instar du ramen, on retrouve parmi ces dominantes: le b\u0153uf, le poulet, le porc&#8230; G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, on fait revenir ces aliments dominants dans une omelette avant de la d\u00e9poser aux cot\u00e9s d&rsquo;autres ingr\u00e9dients comme les edamame mais on peut sinon simplement d\u00e9poser un jaune d&rsquo;\u0153uf \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re du bibimbap cor\u00e9en. Le non du donburi suit en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral la m\u00eame construction : la dominante suivie de \u00ab\u00a0don\u00a0\u00bb comme katsudon pour le porc (\u00ab\u00a0porc\u00a0\u00bb = \u00ab\u00a0katsu\u00a0\u00bb) ou gyudon (gyu = \u00ab\u00a0b\u0153uf\u00a0\u00bb) . Dans ce paysage, l&rsquo;oyakodon fait figure d&rsquo;exception car oyako est la contraction de \u00ab\u00a0parent\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0enfant\u00a0\u00bb. En effet, m\u00e9langeant le poulet et l&rsquo;\u0153uf, il rappelle philosophiquement le cycle de la vie. L&rsquo;ingr\u00e9dient secret qui donne un umami caract\u00e9ristique de ces plats quand vous les d\u00e9gustez au restaurant japonais est la poudre de bonite.
