Les juifs pr\u00e9parent souvent du \u00ab zaalouk \u00bb pour leurs f\u00eates de Shabbat o\u00f9 ils s\u2019abstiennent d\u2019allumer le feu le samedi. Ils ont pour habitude de consacrer le vendredi soir \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration de plats simples qui peuvent \u00eatre consomm\u00e9s froids, ce qui est  le cas du zaalouk. A ceci pr\u00e8s qu&rsquo;au Maroc, on le consid\u00e8re comme une entr\u00e9e (servie chaude en hiver) plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;un comme un plat principal. il ressemble \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards au
